The Flow of Battle

Basic Rules

In Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, players use 40-card decks to battle each other. Bring your opponent's defense to 0 to win the match.

Turn Order

The player who goes first is decided at random when the match begins. You will see your leader and the turn order on the battle start screen. In this example, you will be going second.

Redrawing Your Starting Hand

Each player draws four cards from their deck at the start of the match. You may choose any of those four cards to redraw once. A good strategy is to redraw any high-cost cards and keep the low-cost ones in your hand.

Starting Your Turn / Playing Cards

At the start of their respective turns, each player draws one card from their deck. During your turn, you can play cards by consuming play points (indicated by the green gauge on the right side of the screen).

As a general rule, cards cannot attack on the turn they are played.

Attacking

Your next turn has come, so your maximum play points have increased to 2. This means you can play cards that cost up to 2. In addition, the card that you played on your last turn can now attack either the enemy leader or an enemy follower.

Tip: Cards with the Rush ability can attack enemy followers on the turn they're played!

Evolving

As the battle progresses, players will be able to use evolution points. The player going first can evolve follower cards from their fifth turn, while the player going second can evolve followers from their fourth. Evolving a follower increases its attack and defense by 2 and, if it entered the field that turn, allows it to attack enemy followers on the same turn.

Evolve followers to take down the opponent's stronger cards or whittle down the enemy leader's defense.

Super-Evolving

Super-evolution becomes available on their seventh turn for players going first and their sixth turn for players going second. Super-evolving a follower increases its attack and defense by 3 and, if it entered the field that turn, allows it to attack enemy followers on the same turn. Super-evolving a follower also gives it the Invincible* ability. Additionally, when enemy followers are destroyed by a super-evolved follower, the enemy leader also takes 1 damage.

*During its controller's turn, Invincible reduces damage taken by the follower to 0 and prevents it from being destroyed by abilities.

Winning

All that's left is to attack with your followers and bring the enemy leader's defense down to 0 to win the match. Pay attention to the abilities of each card and utilize them to attain victory.
